Which East?

You will find two similar terms used in Girls’ and Women’s Rugby in this part of the world: “Eastern Counties” and “East Region”.

Eastern Counties

In Men’s Rugby, the county is very important - in much of the country, a single county makes up a constituent body or ‘CB’. In East Anglia, the Counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk work together as a CB called “Eastern Counties”. It is at this level that we are working to help clubs bring more girls into this wonderful game, and to raise standards.

East Region

In Women’s Rugby, the key national competitions for Adults, Under 18s and Under 15s are organised at regional level. The competition is under-pinned by an intensive development programme for those who are selected. The RFUW East Region consists of Hertfordshire, Essex - and “Eastern Counties”.
