Strong start to England Campaign
September 1st, 2006

England earned a convincing win over the USA Eagles 18-0 yesterday afternoon. They may not have earned the bonus points of New Zealand, France, Australia and Scotland, who all each completely decimated Canada, Ireland, South Africa and Spain repectively, but are off to a strong start.
You can find the RFUW writeup (and some excellent photos) here

The pay-per-view service brought a belated 12 minutes of the second half to insomniacs. A thunderstorm at the venue (look carefully at some of the photos) caused a powercut, and much embarrassment to the web tv company, who emailed a very prompt apology and offer of a refund. The quality isn’t brilliant, but two young players hereabouts and their parents got to see an outstanding run by the England Full Back which led to a try thanks to excellent forward support.
England next play South Africa at 9.30pm BST on 4th September, which should be good for 5 points (I hope), and will encourage a speedy conclusion to business at the next Eastern Counties Forum Meeting.
Give the web service a try…. Those of you with SKY will be able to watch the semi-finals and the final on ‘real’ tv.
